Chennai, 29th September 2025 — Amid the ongoing festive season, Citroën India brings added cheer to customers with a major safety milestone. The Citroën AIRCROSS 5S SUV has achieved a prestigious 5-star safety rating for Adult protection in the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP), marking a significant step forward in the brand’s journey to deliver smart, secure, and customer-centric mobility solutions tailored for Indian roads.
This achievement reflects Citroën’s evolving product philosophy under the Citroën 2.0 strategy, which focuses on offering vehicles that combine aspirational design with advanced safety and comfort. The AIRCROSS 5S has consistently been appreciated by customers for its ride quality and comfort, and now, with its top-tier safety credentials, it stands as a complete package, engineered for protection, versatility, and peace of mind.

This top-tier rating underscores Citroën’s unwavering commitment to safety, innovation, and engineering excellence. The AIRCROSS 5S demonstrated exceptional performance across all crash test parameters, including Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP), and Safety Assist Technologies (SAT). The Citroën AIRCROSS already comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features designed to offer greater protection and peace of mind. It includes six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and more than 40 active and passive safety technologies such as electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and hill-hold assist. The AIRCROSS employs high-strength steel, Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to effectively manage front and side impacts while minimising cabin intrusion.
The AIRCROSS also offers a range of thoughtful features that enhance comfort, convenience, and overall driving experience. It is equipped with LED projector headlamps for improved visibility, automatic air conditioning with climate control, and power-folding ORVMs. Inside, the cabin features a soft-touch instrument panel, grab handles, rear AC vents, and repositioned power window switches on the doors for easier access.
The AIRCROSS SUV is available with two engine options — the 1.2L Gen 3 PURETECH 110 turbo and the PURETECH 82 naturally aspirated engine — delivering up to 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic transmissions. Along with it, a flexible seating configuration of 5S and 5+2 is available for customers to choose from.
As festive celebrations continue across the country, Citroën is set to elevate the season further with the upcoming launch of the AIRCROSS X, a bold step forward in its commitment to smart and safe mobility.
