How it works
- In case your car meets with an accident, you will be eligible for a daily conveyance benefit that meets your everyday mobility needs, as per the terms and conditions of your policy.
- Once confirmation is provided by the dealer workshop team, daily cash conveyance will be paid by the insurer as per the terms and conditions of your policy.

Features and Benefits
- Repair or replacement of the following internal child parts of the engine: engine block, crank shaft and its bearings, connecting rods, piston set, piston rings, cylinder head, cam shaft and its bearings, inlet and exhaust valve, oil seals, packing kits, and oil pump.
- Repair or replacement of the following child parts of the fuel system: fuel pump, high-pressure pump, injectors, and common rails (low and high pressure).
- Covers the labour cost of overhauling the damaged engine and/or the fuel system.
- Covers the cost of the engine oil in case an engine flush is required.
- Covers the cost of testing the fuel to determine if adulterated fuel was used.
How it works
Claims made under ‘Damage to engine arising out of use of adulterated fuel’ would be admissible if:

- Usage Based Insurance (UBI) program rewards vehicle owners for safe and responsible driving throughout the policy tenure
- User’s driving data such as the distance driven, vehicle speed, events such as hard-braking, harsh acceleration, etc. are collected and a driving score is determined
- Based on the high/good driving score, additional discount is offered at the time of insurance renewal
- Based on the driving score, insurance company could provide additional discount on insurance premium during renewal. The discount with UBI (by Insurer) is in addition to the usual discount that dealer may provide during renewal
- While a vehicle owner opts in for UBI at the time of vehicle purchase, the benefits through UBI program apply during insurance renewal in the subsequent year
- Customers buying Citroen connected cars (currently EC3 & C3 Shine) and taking insurance of ICICI Lombard from Citroen dealer
- Vehicle owners who purchase/renew insurance outside of Citroen dealership are not eligible for the program
- First Year is complimentary, customer does not need to pay any extra charges/signing fee for UBI
- For continuing using UBI from 2nd year onwards, vehicle owners must pay a nominal fee of Rs One Hundred (Rs. 100/-) annually
- For opting for UBI program - vehicle owner must provide their consent for sharing driving data with insurance company
- Consent for data sharing could be provided at dealership during vehicle purchase or through the UBI option in My Citroen Connect app
- Vehicle owners who have not opted for UBI during vehicle purchase can opt in for UBI within a duration 6 months from vehicle purchase date only through the My Citroen Connect app
- Also, vehicle owners can opt for UBI at the time of insurance renewals in subsequent years
- In case user doesn’t renew UBI, it is considered that user has opted-out of UBI
User consent is mandatory since user’s driving data is shared with the insurance company for determining driving score
- Citroen UBI service collects user’s driving data and shares it with the insurance company. The insurer processes the driving data based on an internal algorithm and provides the driving score
- Vehicle owner can view the driving score in My Citroen Connect mobile App. Additionally, the app also provides driving tips on how to optimize the driving behavior
- Vehicle owner can monitor the driving score regularly and improve his/her driving behavior
- While renewing the vehicle insurance, the insurer can provide additional discount based on the driving score
- Driving data such as the distance travelled, average speed per trip, count of rash acceleration, hard braking and over speeding is shared with the insurance company
- No other personally identifiable information such as name/email/phone number/vehicle VIN is shared with the insurance company
- Citroen is responsible for collecting the driving data from vehicles. The driving data is shared with the insurance company from which user has purchased the insurance
- The insurance company is responsible for determining the driving score
- UBI service is part of the Connectivity Services offered via My Citroen Connect App
- User can view driving score and driving tips via the “UBI” section in My Citroen Connect App
The UBI model scores a customer based on their driving behavior over a period of minimum six months.
Driving score reflects driving behavior from the day user opted in for UBI. Higher the score better it is.
Frequency of driving doesn’t impact driving score. Score is based on driving behavior hence if vehicle is driven safely, score will be good
City/highway driving doesn’t impact driving score. Score is based on driving behavior hence if vehicle is driven safely, score will be good
In this case, the driving score will be based on an aggregated driving behavior of multiple drivers
- Driving score is based on customer’s driving behavior and is independent of his/her claim behavior. If customer claims, it does not impact his/her score.
- UBI benefits will not be available in case of Third Party or Personal Accident claims.

- There is a Third Party or Personal Accident claim on the vehicle in the policy period
- Customer does not pay the UBI subscription fee (Rs 100/year) from 2nd year onwards
